Thursday, Sept. 29, and Friday, Sept. 30
Concordia University, Nebraska and Four Corners Health Department are co-sponsoring the Resources, Response and Recovery for Rural Nebraska Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 29, and Friday, Sept. 30, in the Walz Human Performance Complex on the Concordia campus. The workshop, made possible with grant funding from the Nebraska Community Foundation, is targeted for clergy, crisis teams, community health educators, human care ministry teams, health professionals, social workers and college students.
The two-day workshop is designed to strengthen the capacity of local communities by providing them with information on preparing for disasters and on recovery from those events.
Concordia’s Dr. Renea Gernant and Dr. Lisa Ashby will present on older adults and disaster, and Dr. Dirk Reek will be a part of the clergy panel at the workshop. Friday’s session will cover psychological first aid training.
