Concordia experiences second consecutive year of double-digit growth in enrollment
Once again, Concordia University, Nebraska is overflowing with energy and people on campus as the university settles into a new fall semester. For the second year in a row, Concordia has experienced double-digit growth of its incoming undergraduate class.
“In the last year Concordia has been recognized by third-party organizations for its top-tier academics, vibrant Christian community and a price for higher education that is within reach,” said Concordia President Brian Friedrich. “We’re thankful that families are recognizing the value in that formula, giving us an opportunity to fulfill our mission this year with more students than ever before.”
Concordia’s incoming class has 421 undergraduate students registered as of Sept. 4, 2015, two weeks into the fall semester of 2015-16, the university’s 122nd academic year. This year’s class is 10 percent larger than last year’s incoming class of 384, which was 13 percent larger than the 2013 fall class of 341 incoming undergraduate students.
The fall 2015 incoming class is the largest incoming class at Concordia in decades. Full-time undergraduate enrollment has increased to 1,221 students on the Seward campus, the largest total of full-time undergraduates since 1973-74.
The university’s College of Graduate Studies and Adult Education has reached 1,053 full-time and part-time adult learners registered for classes as of Sept. 1, 2015. In September 2014, enrollment of full-time and part-time students in this college was 847.
The graduate college offers on-ground classes at its campus in the Fallbrook area of north Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as in Omaha, Nebraska. It also provides online classes and is a participating university in Concordia Online Education, a partnership among Concordia University, Nebraska, Concordia University – Portland and Concordia College-New York.
The university also continues to serve hundreds of students taking dual-credit classes each academic year, pushing the total headcount of students served this fall beyond 2,600, the largest total enrollment in the history of the university.
