Dr. Kurt von Kampen receives applause after the 2013 Christmas at Concordia concert at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska. Tickets for the 2014 Christmas at Concordia concerts are available Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at christmasatconcordia.net.

Registration for Christmas at Concordia, an annual series of free concerts that feature various music ensembles from Concordia opens Monday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. Tickets can be reserved at christmasatconcordia.net or by calling 402-643-7171. The concerts are open to the public, and reservations are required for admission.

“We are honored to share the Gospel message and the joy of the season with as many people as possible,” said Concordia Director of Alumni and University Relations Adam Hengeveld. “Such talented student musicians draw quite a crowd each year. Last year all tickets were reserved in 80 minutes, so it is critical to reserve tickets as soon after 11 a.m. as possible, and we ask that attendees only reserve the number of tickets they will need.”

Performances will be Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.

Christmas at Concordia weekend also includes two non-concert community events. The 20th annual Scholarship Parade of Homes will be Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 at Concordia University Weller Hall in office 206, Jones National Bank & Trust Company, The Cattle National Bank & Trust Company, Union Bank & Trust Company and online at christmasatconcordia.net beginning Nov. 3. Parade of Homes tickets are available on the day of the event for $12 in the lobby of Weller Hall at Concordia University, as well as the lobby of Seward High School.

Concordia will also host a community reception in celebration of the Christmas season in the Cattle Conference Room of the Janzow Campus Center on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.  This reception will include refreshments and is free and open to the public.

Christmas at Concordia weekend events are made possible through the support of Jones National Bank & Trust Co.
