Dav Pilkey brings his book tour for “Dog Man” to Seward, with special events for families on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016.

Children’s book author Dav Pilkey is coming to Concordia University, Nebraska, as part of his fall tour and a special event hosted by the Plum Creek Children's Literacy Festival and Chapter's Books and Gifts of Seward. Pilkey will participate in a special family event, including a 30-minute presentation and live drawing, as well as a book signing, on Oct. 25, 2016, at 6 p.m. in Weller Hall at Concordia.

At the event, Scholastic will be providing free “Reading Gives You Superpowers” superhero capes, bookmarks, posters, postcards and draw your own comic kits. All of Pilkey’s books will be on sale during the event, including his bestseller, “Captain Underpants” and his new book, “Dog Man.”

The event is free, and the public is invited to attend; however, seats are limited, and tickets are required to guarantee a seat in Weller Hall for the presentation and a spot in the book signing line. Tickets are available at Chapters Books and Gifts, located at 548 Seward St. Interested community members can check availability of tickets by calling Chapters at 402-643-2282.

Additionally, inflatable characters “Dog Man” and “Captain Underpants” will be walking around before and after the event. Families are welcome to take pictures with the characters.
