Elementary students are invited to attend art sessions put on by Concordia University, Nebraska’s art department. They will be held on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Brommer Art Center, room 123, on Concordia’s campus in Seward.

The sessions will be led by elementary education and art education majors and will be overseen by Professor of Art Don Robson. All of the sessions will be divided by age group. Art making combined with art history, aesthetics and constructive criticism will be applied through the teachings of the Concordia students to the elementary students.

“Students are given, perhaps, their first opportunity to design a discipline-based art education unit plan and teach it to children in the age group they desire during a two-hour Saturday session in Brommer Art Center,” says Professor and Department Chair of Art Don Robson. “Due to the size of the class and time constraints, students work in groups of three to five to plan and develop their teaching experience.”

There are 25 seats available per session. Each student is required to pay a fee of $5 for registration and supplies.
