Courtney Meyer was named the 2006-07 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by the Lutheran Admission Counselors of the Missouri Synod. Meyer, Concordia's head football coach, began his career at the university as a member of its admission office.
Chad Thies, director of admission, presented the award during a banquet earlier in May.
“It was an honor to present this award to Coach Meyer," said Thies. "He is one of my best friends, a mentor, and a true man of God. He has lived his life to the fullest, Coach has touched the lives of so many people and he will continue to do so. Coach Meyer is a champion on and off the field.”
Pastor John Dreyer, president-elect of LACMS, described Meyer as an obvious choice. "He has served the LCMS for 40 years and has affected many lives in countless ways.”
