Rev. Dr. Paul Holtorf accepts the honor for Outstanding TeachingRev. Dr. Paul Holtorf, associate professor of theology, was honored with Concordia University, Nebraska’s Outstanding Teaching Award during commencement ceremonies on campus Saturday, May 10.

While accepting the honor, Holtorf thanked his parents, his wife Diane, his sons and the pastor who, when Holtorf was a high school student, introduced him to Concordia, Rev. Fred Hertwig.

"The classroom is a special place," said Holtorf. "It is a place here where learning and fellowship and ministry all come together each day. And all that takes place as a body of Christ and being in Christ.  And so it is a humbling honor and privilege to to be a part of that every day."

In addition to his role as professor, Holtorf serves as the chair of the theology department. He earned his bachelor’s and master's from Concordia Nebraska, a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and his doctorate from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
