Dr. Micah Parker addressed the attitudes of popular culture on the subjects of sexuality and profanity in a talk on campus Friday, April 11. Culture, he explained, would push us to make sexuality either the most important thing in our lives or trivialize it. Neither view leads Christians in the right direction.
"It is time we start to listen to what God says about how we should live our lives," Parker said. "And it is also time to listen also to what God says about forgiveness. Often times the (sinful) behavior becomes a habit because we can't acknowledge that forgiveness in our lives."
Parker, now the headmaster at Lutheran South Academy in Houston, is a former student, coach and faculty member at Concordia. Parker's appearance at Concordia was sponsored by Seward High School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
