On April 2 Concordia welcomed 52 students from Seward Middle School, St. John Lutheran School in Seward, and Zion Lutheran School in Hastings to "shadow day.
The middle-schoolers, all of whom identified teaching as a possible career, matched up with current education students at Concordia and followed them through their day. Dr. Rebecca Fisher, director of middle level education at Concordia, organized the event.
Concordia has been holding a middle school shadow day for ten years. It originally started with a request from a grade school student. She had been observed throughout a day of middle school by a Concordia student and wanted to make a similar study of college learning.
