Five Concordia students were honored at the Nebraska Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance 110th anniversary gala on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Cornhusker Marriott hotel in Lincoln. Students earning various health and physical education degrees from eight colleges and universities in the state were recognized by the organization. The requirements included junior or senior status, 3.0 GPA or higher and service on campus and in the community.
"This is an honor and recognition that Concordia is preparing future professionals in a number of majors to be leaders in the fields of health, physical education, exercise science and sport management. These students deserve it," said Eunice Goldgrabe, chair of the health and human performance department.
Concordia's honorees were Bryant Krieger, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., majoring in sport management; Patricia Loveless, a senior from Lexington, Neb., majoring in health education; Leah Koopman, a junior from Hastings, Neb., majoring in physical education; Nicole Wright, a junior from Alamosa, Colo. majoring in health promotion; and Emily Wolters, a junior from Atwood, Kan., majoring in exercise science.
