Dr. Marsha Konz is the new dean of the College of Graduate Studies at Concordia. Konz has more than 40 years of experience in education including multiple levels of public and private classroom instruction and administrative roles in K-12 and higher education institutions. She most recently served as associate dean of graduate education and assistant vice president of academics at Concordia University Wisconsin.
"Dr. Konz will contribute great insight and knowledge in her leadership of our graduate programs," said Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich, president of Concordia. "Her previous experience in program development and implementation is a vital contribution. She is also deeply dedicated to our mission as a Christian Lutheran institution of higher education preparing students to serve the church and the world."
Konz holds a Ph.D. in educational administration and curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her master of education in professional development focused on reading, and her bachelor's studies were in English, Spanish and secondary education.
"I am thrilled to be at Concordia University, Nebraska because the school has adhered to the high standards for which it has been known," said Konz. "Graduate schools are drastically changing, and Concordia has been willing to adjust programs with respect to delivery methods, acceleration of programs and sites where courses are offered, but Concordia has not compromised their high standards and outstanding programs."
Konz has plans to build upon the current graduate programs at Concordia. "I would like to solidify the direction of the College of Graduate Studies and build by adding venues and programs to what is already happening. I will continue the tradition of quality while addressing the demands of today's students and the changing landscape of education delivery."
