Concordia University forward Sam Huebner has been named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in two games this past week for the Bulldogs. Huebner, a junior from Aurora, CO, averaged 20.5 points and 14 rebounds as the Bulldogs went 1-1 in games against Hastings College and Northwestern College.
Huebner totaled 13 points, a game-high 11 rebounds, two blocks and two steals off the bench in Concordia’s 71-61 loss at Hastings College on Dec. 9. In Concordia’s four-overtime win over Northwestern this past weekend, he scored a team-high 28 points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds. He also finished 14-of-16 at the free throw line for the week. For the season, Huebner leads Concordia with 13.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Concordia is now 8-5 on the year and 4-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs will travel to California to take part in the Tom Byron Classic Tournament on Dec. 29 and 30.
