Article Body

A total of five Concordia University women’s soccer players were named as 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes.  The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes announced that a total of 387 women’s soccer student-athletes were named to the 2009 list.

Nominated by each institution’s head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

Carolyn Chrzan, Shelley Hermann, Allyson Timmerman, Molly Millard and Hannah Denk all earned the honor for the Bulldogs.  “I am so proud of our players for this academic achievement,” said Rob Giesbrecht, head coach of the Bulldogs.  “Our program strives for excellence both on the field as well as in the classroom.  This is a great accomplishment for these five student-athletes and a great example of what Concordia University athletics is all about.”
