Concordia University linebacker Jerrod Fleming has been named this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in Concordia’s 13-2 win over Dana College on Saturday.
Fleming, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, totaled a game-high 11 tackles in the Bulldog win. He also added an interception, a sack and a pass breakup as the Bulldogs forced five Viking turnovers.
Fleming ranks second on the Bulldog defense with 46 tackles on the year. He leads the team with 8.5 tackles for loss and is tied for the team lead in sacks (2.0) and fumble recoveries (2).
Concordia is 3-6 on the season and hosts Hastings College on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
