WSOC: Dordt College earns 3-0 win over Concordia

Dordt College blanked Concordia 3-0 in women’s soccer on Saturday afternoon.  The Defenders improved to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the GPAC with the win.  Concordia fell to 3-5-2 overall and 1-3 in the GPAC with the loss.

Dordt took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Kelly Smies in the 24th minute.  The score remained the same until Dordt’s Elise Wedel scored to give the Defenders a 2-0 lead.  Morgan Rodenburgh added a goal for Dordt in the 69th minute for the final score of 3-0. 

Dordt held a large advantage in shots and also had five corner kicks compared to just two for Concordia.  Ariel Harris made eight saves and allowed the three goals to take the loss in goal for the Bulldogs.  Steph Goslinga made two saves to earn the win for Dordt. 

Concordia hosts Mount Marty on Oct. 3.  The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium in Seward.
