Sioux Falls Invite meet results
The Concordia men’s cross country team opened the season with a first place finish at the Sioux Falls Invitational/Nike Heartland Pre-Regional Meet on Saturday. Eight teams and 99 total runners participated in the meet. Doane College was second, and Northern State University finished in third place.
Concordia dominated the meet, as six runners finished in the top 10 individually for the Bulldogs. Senior Zach Meineke won the meet with a time of 25:24.25, sophomore Dana Schmidt finished second at 25:34.66 and senior David Goeglein was third with a time of 25:37.26. Colin Morrissey, another freshman for the Bulldogs, finished fifth at 26:01.57, Tyson Billings was seventh at 26:09.87 and Zane Grabau was 10th with a time of 26:33.10.
Jon Grotefendt finished in 16th place with a time of 26:58.29, Joshua Meyer was 17th at 27:07.55 and Aaron Kortze was 19th with a time of 27:15.04. Scott Schwalenberg (27:59.13) was 30th, Travis Besel (28:02.75) was 31st, Steven Schultz (28:08.72) was 33rd and Zach Baedke (28:09.71) finished 34th.
Other runners for Concordia included Keegan Bloomfield in 39th at 28:15.06, Joel Heckmann in 40th at 28:15.50, Caleb Egger 45th – 28:18.10, Matt Trampe 47th – 28:27.07, Jared Hoffman 56th – 29:03.34, Ricky Gross 64th – 29:30.81, Daniel Gibson 77th – 30:24.99, Aaron Prahlow 85th – 31:08.85 and Daniel Klinge 92nd – 32:19.13. Concordia will take part in the Woody Greeno Invitational on Sept. 19 in Lincoln.
