Concordia senior Chris Tegtmeier took second place in the USA 15K Race Walk Championships last month at the Greenway Trail in Minnesota. Tegtmeier walked the course in 1:13:49 and finished behind two-time Olympian Tim Seaman, who finished with a time of 1:11:49.
The Race Walk Championship event also served as the USA 15K Junior Race Walking Championships, the USA vs. Canada Race Walk Junior Dual, and the World Master Athletics North America, Central America and Caribbean Region 15K Race Walking Championships.
Concordia head track and cross country coach Kregg Einspahr was pleased with the result at the Race Walk Championships. “Overall, it was a pretty good performance by Chris,” said Einspahr. “He learns a lot at these big competitions, and the experience gained will help him continue to compete at a high level.”
