Concordia defeated Sterling College by the score of 1-0 on Tuesday evening.  The Bulldogs improved to 2-2 on the year with the victory.

The Bulldogs scored in the 24th minute.  An errant Sterling College pass resulted in an “own goal” and gave Concordia the 1-0 lead.  The Bulldogs used solid defense to hold on for the 1-0 win.  George Lara had a game-high three shots for Concordia in the win.  Nate Friesner and Raul Lopez each had two shots.  Kolt O’Kelly and Jacob Lias each added shots on goal.  Chris Podlich (2-2) made three saves and earned his first shutout of the year in goal for the Bulldogs.

Head coach Jason Weides talked about the win.  "We obviously caught a break with the goal that was scored," said Weides.  "I thought we played well enough to score some more goals, and we just didn't finish some chances.  We were solid defensively, and that allowed us to pick up the win."

Concordia will host McPherson College on Sept. 5 in a 7 p.m. contest at Bulldog Stadium.
