The Concordia University men’s soccer team defeated York College by the score of 3-1 on Thursday evening in York.  The Panthers took an early 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs rallied for the win.

The Panthers scored on the first shot of the game. Concordia junior midfielder George Lara responded with a goal off an assist by Kolt O’Kelly to tie the game at 1-1 heading into halftime.

The second half was dominated by Concordia.  A.J. Jorgensen and Evan Gahan each scored, and the Bulldogs controlled the game and the time of possession battle down the stretch.  Concordia head coach Jason Weides was happy with the way his team responded after the early deficit.

“We really out-possessed York tonight,” said Weides.  “They had the one pretty good scoring chance early, and they took advantage of it.  I really thought we missed some opportunities to extend the lead in the second half, but overall we really improved our play.”
