The Concordia University women's soccer team picked up a big road victory, topping the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers 2-1 at Caldwell Park in Mitchell, S.D. Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs' scoring started early in the first half as Jordan Meyer found the back of the net off a feed from Kayla Geyer in the 13th minute. Dakota Wesleyan tied the game at 1-1 when Ellie Peterson beat Concordia netminder Sara Webb off a rebound chance in the 37th minute.
Concordia got the game-winning goal at the 56:57 mark when Sarah Hoffman connected with Shelly Hermann who beat Dakota Wesleyan goalkeeper Danielle Richardson to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 lead and eventual victory.
Webb, a senior from Littleton, Colo., had her best performance in net for the Bulldogs this season, making 10 saves on 13 shots for the afternoon.
The victory moves the Bulldogs to 5-11-0 overall and 3-8-0 in the GPAC while the Tigers' loss drops them to 7-7-2 overall and 4-4-2 in GPAC play.
The next action for the Bulldogs comes Wednesday, Oct. 29, as the University of Sioux Falls Cougars make their way to Bulldog Stadium for a 5 p.m. match.
