WSOC: Bulldogs win nail biter over Red Raiders

The Concordia University, Nebraska women's soccer team got back on the winning track by defeating the Northwestern College Red Raiders 1-0 Saturday evening at Bulldog Stadium in Seward, Neb.
The teams played even soccer through the first half, but the Bulldogs got a surge of energy coming out of the break and Molly Hein was able to beat Northwestern netminder Wendy Hofmeyer off a feed from Jordan Meyer in 50th minute. The Bulldogs used tough defense to hold of surges by Northwestern throughout the remaining minutes to hold on for the victory.
The win moves the Bulldogs to 4-9-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the GPAC while the defeat moves the Red Raiders to 4-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the GPAC.
The next action for the Bulldogs comes Wednesday, Oct. 22, as Concordia welcomes rival Nebraska Wesleyan to Bulldog Stadium for a 5 p.m. game.
