The Concordia University men's soccer team rode the second half goal by Kolt O'Kelly to defeat the Briar Cliff Chargers, 1-0 at Bulldog Stadium in Seward, Neb. The two teams played equal soccer through the majority of the game until O'Kelly slipped a shot past the Charger goalkeeper Buddy Goodenkauf with 23 minutes remaining. The Bulldog's defense was able to stifle the Briar Cliff offensive attack for the remainder of the game.
Concordia goalkeeper Alex McKamy had two impressive saves in midair en route to eight total saves for the game.
The Bulldogs move to 4-6-1 overall, and evened their record to 3-3-1 in the GPAC, while the Chargers fall to 4-7-1 overall and 1-6-0 in the GPAC.
Concordia will match up against another GPAC foe on Wednesday, Oct. 15, as they head to Fremont, Neb., to take on Midland Lutheran at 4 p.m.
