MSOC: Bulldogs and Lancers play to 1-1 tie

The Concordia University, Nebraska men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie Saturday evening against the Mt. Marty College Lancers in Yankton, S.D.

The two teams played even soccer through the first 45 minutes taking a 0-0 tie into the half. Both teams came out with more fire in the second half. Concordia got on the scoreboard first, just a few minutes into the second half, as Richard Rattray found Theron Jenkins Jr. to give the Bulldogs the lead 1-0.

In the 59th minute Mt. Marty knotted the score at 1-1 when Chandler Olmo beat Concordia goalkeeper Alex McKamy off an assist from Angel Duran.

The teams played even soccer throughout the remaining time in the second half and throughout the overtime frame to end the game in a 1-1 tie.

McKamy logged all 110 minutes in goal making six saves while allowing one goal on seven shots on goal.

The Bulldogs will next be in action Tuesday, Oct. 7, as Concordia will travel to Hastings, Neb., to take on the Hastings College Broncos at 7 p.m.
