WSOC: Tigers hold Bulldogs in check

The Concordia University, Nebraska women's soccer team lost a tight match 2-1 to the Doane College Tigers, Tuesday evening at Simon Field in Crete, Neb.

Doane (5-4, 1-2 GPAC) got on the scoreboard early with a goal by Samantha Exstrom from Jayne Wagner in the 5th minute of the first half. The Bulldogs (2-5, 0-3 GPAC) were able to knot the game up at 1-1 when Molly Humlicek found the back of the net off of a feed from Molly Hein in the 53rd minute.

The Tigers retook the lead with less than a minute later when Exstrom again beat Bulldog goalkeeper Ariel Harris off a feed from Sarah Medina. The Bulldogs would be held scoreless the remainder of the second half.

Harris withstood a flurry of Tiger shots as Doane managed 27 shots on goal for the evening. Harris did make 11 saves while allowing the two goals.

The Bulldogs will return home for a 1 p.m. meeting with the Dordt College Defenders on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Bulldog Stadium in Seward, Neb.
