WSOC: Bulldogs top Mustangs in 89th minute

The Concordia University, Nebraska women's soccer team got in the win column for the first time this season in a 2-1 victory Saturday over the Mt. Mercy Mustangs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Mustangs' Mackenzie Skay scored off an assist from Kelli Deserano in the 28th minute of the match to put Mt. Mercy in front 1-0.

Concordia's equalizer came in the 57th minute when Hannah Denk scored off an assist from Sarah Hoffman. The Bulldogs' winning goal did not come until the 89th minute when Hoffman, unassisted, put the ball in the back in back of the net.

Freshman goalkeeper Arial Harris picked up her first career win in net, allowing just one goal while making 8 saves.

The Bulldogs will next be in action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, as they welcome Sterling College to Bulldog Stadium for a 5 p.m. match.
