Concordia women's soccer coach Rob Giesbrecht is pleased to announce that Mallorie Blanck will be joining the program next season.  Blanck is an accomplished student-athlete from Manhattan, Kan., and is a key addition to the Bulldogs women's soccer program.

Giesbrecht is confident that Blanck is good fit at Concordia and on the team. "Mallorie has the character and athletic ability that we look for. She is a driven young woman with a competitive fire within her that will propel her to succeed at the university level.  She is an incredibly talented player:  she is quick, skillful, and also a natural finisher."

Blanck is the all-time leading score at Manhattan High School and has led the team in scoring all four years.  In her freshmen year she helped the Lady Indians finish  fourth in the state.  As a sophomore she was a first team all-region and second team all-state, and as a junior she was first team all-region and first team all-state.

When asked why she chose Concordia, Blanck stated, "I was impressed with the atmosphere of the college and the academic excellence it offers.  The soccer program seemed like a good fit.  The team was very welcoming and the coaches will help me grow athletically and to be a contributing player to the team."

Giesbrecht added, "Blanck will immediately be challenging for playing time up top. She can be an effective target player as well as be a threat to get in behind our opponents.  Her ability to link up with our midfielders will allow our team to attack with greater purpose.  Her finishing ability will also be a welcomed addition to our team's attack."

Blanck, who plans to major in exercise science, has been on the honor roll every year at Manhattan High School.  She also lettered 3 years on the Manhattan High School golf team.
