Annual Alumni Phonathon begins
Remain true with all our hearts ...
It is time for the Annual Alumni Phonathon to begin! More than 60 Concordia students will help make calls to alumni to raise funds and connect current students with Concordians from years past.
Calling will start Saturday, Jan. 19, and continue five nights a week through Sunday, March 9.
“I got involved in the phonathon my freshmen year when a co-chair told me I ‘had to be involved in this,’” said David Hasseldahl ’08. “Now in my fourth year of participating, I can honestly say he was right.
"Phonathon is more than just asking for gifts to support Concordia; it is developing relationships and reconnecting our amazing alumni back to Concordia. For some alumni that call is the closest they get to coming back and remembering their years at Concordia. When I graduate, I look forward to that call and remembering my years here at Concordia.”
Nicole Neumann ’08, is another returning caller and loves making the calls. “I got involved in the phonathon my freshmen year because I wanted a little bit extra spending money, and I was going on a mission trip over spring break. This is my fourth year doing the phonathon, and I keep coming back because I enjoy the people that I work with and talking to the alumni that we get to call.”
Remember when you get the call, feel free to visit with the student and then say, “Yes, I will give to Concordia this year!”
2008 co-chairs
David Hasseldahl ’08, Kendra Gilmore ’08, Theron Jenkins ’09, Katie Wollman ’10, Julia Jankauskas ’09, Nicole Neumann ’08 and April Witte’10.
Other ways to give back
Consider finding a way today to give back so that others may also attend and make a difference in our church and world.
- A “classy” gift: To make a gift that makes a difference your class could gather to endow a scholarship. Contact the alumni office for assistance to make this a reality.
- Someone you know: making a difference: You may know someone who shares Concordia’s vision of preparing ethical servant leaders for the church and world. They may not be alumni, but they may wish to support our mission. You can introduce them to Concordia by inviting them to a Concordia event, or just calling us.
- President’s forums: Open up conversations in a comfortable atmosphere with Concordia’s president or development staff to assist in answering questions they may have.
- Continue to give: Your continued giving supported many scholarships and building campaigns along with helping to grow our endowment to secure the future.
We challenge every alumnus to make a gift to Concordia each year. We celebrate that almost 30 percent currently give! Can you find a way to support Concordia?
