A brochure and registration information has been posted regarding the 2010 alumni and friends trip to see the Passion Play in Oberammergau and tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Reservations and deposits are needed by Feb. 1, 2009. There will not be a mass postal mailing, so all interested alumni and friends are encouraged to act now. [MORE]

Rev. Dr. Orville Walz , former president of Concordia Nebraska and Concordia University College of Alberta in Canada, was honored by the latter institution today, Sept. 3, at its opening convocation. Dr. Walz received the Christo et Ecclesia award for his long and meritorious service as pastor, teacher and administrator, and for his "significant contributions that have inspired and ennobled the people of God and that have given glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. "

Five Jesse Hall roommates from the class of 1956 got together, along with their wives, for a three-day reunion in Davenport, Iowa. The group included Roger and June Kohtz, Ruth and Arnie Schmidt, Janet and Dick Wenz, Ted and Ruth Aufdemberge, and Marlene and Nathan Eickmann. The image sent along by Nathan Eickmann was taken during a riverboat cruise.

Gerri Osborn, a December 2007 graduate, is the new owner of her hometown newspaper, the Hooker County Tribune in Mullen, Nebraska. It will be a busy next couple of months for Osborn, as she is also getting married in August.

A Homecoming Alumni Choir will assemble this fall. Plan now to join the University Chamber Choir in singing for a Sunday morning service at St. John Lutheran Church on Oct. 5. Dr. Kurt von Kampen will lead the combined choir during the homecoming weekend. The Sunday worship experience will which will also include Concordia’s brass ensemble and Dr. Jeffrey Blersch at the organ. Choral scores will be sent in September to participants. The complete homecoming schedule is available online.
