Wendy Brown, will be representing Concordia Nebraska at a Lutheran Education Association planning meeting in Chicago to set up a new student network at LEA. The intent of the network will be to inform current students in teacher education and DCE education about LEA and about topics of interest to them. Each CUS institution is sending one representative.

Kim Marxhausen, adjust faculty member, was the keynote speaker for the Early Childhood Conference for Iowa District West this year. Her presentation was entitled "Seeking the Faith Quotient" and dealt with the idea that when we teach the faith to children we help them to develop healthy emotional skills which in turn supports their learning. She also completed an in-service tool for administrators of early childhood centers and elementary schools to use to share this topic with their staff members.

Kim Marxhausen, adjust faculty member, writes a monthly parent newsletter, Parent Pages, Resources for Christian Parents in the 21st Century available through the Lutheran Schools Portal and made possible by the Synod's District and Congregational Services/School Ministry.

Kayla Anderson was named Student Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska English Language Arts Council. Anderson worked in the classrooms of Seward High School to complete her student teaching requirement.
