Director of Christian education program

A director of Christian education is a synodically certified, called and commissioned lifespan educational leader prepared for team ministry in a congregational setting.

Concordia was one of the first synodical schools to intentionally develop a program for the education of DCEs and is well respected. We offer many emphases to accompany the DCE degree including: outreach, pre-seminary, parish music, family life, child ministries, youth ministries and adult ministries.

"The professors gave real life examples of successes and struggles within their ministry. The DCE program made a big impact in my life by challenging how I viewed my faith and how I live out my faith." - Gilbert Fugitt ’01, Director of Christian Education
