Sarah Rehme, a 2006 graduate of Concordia, recently assisted with the banding of Nebraska's most famous chicks, the four peregrine falcons that hatched in May atop the Nebraska State Capitol Building.
Rehme works for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission as a conservation technician. She helped place bands on both legs of each chick, took blood samples, checked for diseases and parasites, then returned the chicks to the nest box.
The chicks will be ready to fly in 15-20 days. The public may watch the chicks begin to exercise their wings via the webcam at www.OutdoorNebraska.org.
