All Sounds Became Music

Concordia's A Cappella Choir released "All Sounds Became Music" in March 2005. The CD is available in the university bookstore.

The 16 tracks on the recording include a wide variety of choral music styles from many historical periods. From the opening, God is Gone Up by British composer, Gerald Finzi, to the final E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come, by contemporary American composer of church music, Paul Manz, this collection represents the wide range of vocal styles and colors for which the choir has become known.

Selections included in the list of tracks are: three Christmas carols by English composers Mathias, Howells, and Rutter; Two Poems of Walter De La Mare, by David von Kampen, son of the choir’s conductor; René Clausen’s The Water is Wide; Lord, Thee I Love With All My Heart, by long-time Concordia music professor Theodore Beck; Deep River and Music Down in My Soul by Moses Hogan; and several others.
