  Friday, August 22


    7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
    An optional continental breakfast is available for purchase ($5); students eat free (JCC)

    8 a.m. – noon
    Take Care of Business (JCC)
    ____ Check in with admission’s counselor
    ____ Pick up residence hall keys and move in
    ____ Register for preferred meal plan
    ____ Find out about student employment
    ____ Register vehicle
    ____ Have “First Day of College Photo” taken
    ____ Find out about Bookstore’s online services
    ____ Meet area bank representatives
    ____ Freshmen check-in with Academic Advisor
    ____ Meet Blue Cross/Blue Shield rep
    ____ Check health records
    ____ Check athletic participation forms (including: Physical Exam Record; Insurance & Authorization form; copy of insurance card, front/back; LOC waiver for athletes under 19 years old)
    8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Pick up mailroom box keys & Student Activity Planner (JCC LL)
    Check in with Student Financial Services, if needed (Weller)
    Have ID and yearbook photo taken (Weller)

    11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Move into dorms & have lunch with your family at JCC or Seward-area restaurant
    (Optional) Lunch available for purchase ($6); Students eat free (JCC)

    1 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    Welcome New Students & Parents to the Academic Community! (Weller)

    2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
    Meet faculty and find out information on majors & academic programs. Come and go as you like. (Throughout campus)

    Students/ Parents visit with staff and find out about services offered. Come and go as you like. (Throughout campus)

    Breakfast (Athletes practice as scheduled with coaches)

    9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    WOW! Activities as scheduled with WOW group Friday night.

    11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Lunch

    1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
    WOW! Activities as scheduled with WOW group Friday night.

    4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
    Student Life Office presents “Community, Culture & Code of CU” part 1 (Weller).

    5 p.m. – 6 p.m.
    Dinner with WOW group (JCC)

    6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
    WOW! Activities as scheduled with WOW group Friday night.

Sunday, August 24

    7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
    Breakfast (JCC)

    8 a.m. – noon
    Worship Opportunities (sign up for time/place outside JCC 203 and attend with other new students.)

    11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Lunch

    1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    Take a Break! Get organized!

    2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
    Student Life Office presents “Community, Culture & Code of CU” part 2 (Weller).

    3:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
    Freshman meet with GS 101 instructors (last names A – L; location TBA)

    4:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
    Freshman meet with GS 101 instructors (last names M – Z; location TBA)

    5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Freshman: Dinner with GS group (JCC)
    Transfers meet for dinner and planned activity as scheduled with WOW group.

    7 p.m.
    Concordia’s Opening Worship Service (St. John Lutheran Church)

    10 p.m.
    Establishing Community in Residence Halls
    All residence hall students must attend this mandatory meeting on their respective floors.
