Friday, Aug. 21 - Students & Parent Information Day

7 - 9 a.m .
Continental breakfast (JCC dining hall)
This meal is optional; students eat free; breakfast available to others $5/person

8 a.m . - 11 a.m.
Taking care of business . . .

    To-do list while on upper level of JCC
    ___ Check in with admission counselor
    ___ Have "First Day of College Photo" taken
    ___ Pick up residence hall keys and move in to your room
    ___ Find out about bookstore services
    ___ Confirm preferred meal plan
    ___ Meet area bank reps
    ___ Sign up for music audition time
    ___ Freshmen check-in with academic advisor
    To-do list while on the lower level of JCC
    ___ Check health records
    ___ Pick up mail room box keys & student activity planner
    ___ For athletes: check athletic participation forms (physical exam record, insurance and authorization form, copy of front/back of insurance card, LOC waiver for athletes under 19 years old)
    To-do list while on Weller Hall first floor
    ___ Have ID/Yearbook photo taken (Weller 102)
    ___ Verify financial information with Student Financial Services (Weller 106)
11 a.m.- Noon
Stafford loan presentation (Weller auditorium)
Students applying for the Federal Stafford loan must attend this presentation.

Noon - 1:30 p.m.
Lunch (JCC dining hall)
This meal is optional; students eat free; lunch available to others $6/person

1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Welcome new students and parents to the academic community! (Weller auditorium)

2:45 - 3:30 p.m.
Student and parents visit with faculty and learn about majors and unique programs at Concordia.; Come and go as you like (See printed version of this schedule for locations.)

3:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Transfers meet in TLEC conference room; parents welcome.

3:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Freshmen (students only) meet with peer instructors from First Year Seminar. (See printed version of this schedule for locations.)

3:45 - 4:15 p.m.
PARENTS OF FRESHMEN ONLY: Meet First Year Seminar instructor.

4:30 - 5:15 p.m.
Students/parents visit with staff and find out about services offered: international ed./study abroad, student activities, career services, placement, academic advising, campus pastor, health services, counseling services, athletic director, athletic training, ADA services, academic support. Locations will be throughout campus (see printed version of this schedule). Come and go as you like.

5:15 - 7 p.m.
FREE farewell dinner (JCC)
New students, transfers, & parents join faculty, staff, coaches, RA's and WOW leaders.
Eat with WOW Leaders in WOW Groups as scheduled:
    5:15 p.m. David Basement, David 2nd - JCC Cattle Conference Room
    5:30 p.m. Schuelke & Esther 3rd & Ruth A 1st - JCC dining hall
    5:45 p.m. Ruth B & Transfers - JCC Cattle Conference Room
    6 p.m. Returning students - JCC dining hall

Take a break! Get organized! Review class schedule; plan for first week.

3:45 - 4:45 p.m.
Freshmen meet with First Year Seminar instructors
(Location TBA)

5 - 6:30 p.m.
Freshmen: dinner with your First Year Seminar group - meet peer instructor in JCC lobby
Transfers: dinner & planned activity as scheduled with WOW group

7 p.m.
Concordia's opening worship service (St. John's Lutheran Church, Seward)

10 p.m.
Floor meeting: All residence hall students must attend this meeting on their floors.
