Profile

Amy Guevara, soprano, is a native of Redding, California. Her performance credits include Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Lucy in The Telephone, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Vanessa in Vanessa, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Carmela/Salud cover in La Vida di Breve, Princess Rhyme in The Phantom Tollbooth, Monica in The Medium, and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, among many others. She has sung with the Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia, the Mesa Opera, the Victorian Lyric Opera (Maryland), and the Lyric Opera Theatre (Arizona). She has performed with symphony orchestras in Phoenix; Fairfax, Virginia; and Indianapolis. As a recitalist, she has sung on concert series at the Dumbarton Church in Washington, D.C. and in Reston, Virginia; Mesa, Arizona; and Lincoln, Nebraska. She has also appeared in performances of Candide, The Music Man, West Side Story, Oklahoma, H.M.S. Pinafore, The Gondoliers, and The Merry Widow.

Guevara has studied with Darleen Kliewer-Britton, Jeanne-Michele Charbonnet and Patricia Wulf. She has taught voice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and privately in Arizona and Virginia. She joined the Concordia faculty in 2006.
