Profile Kevin Avey studied guitar with Wallace Gebhard, and the two formed a guitar duo in 1982. He has taught at Concordia since 1984 and currently also maintains a private studio and teaches guitar at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. In addition to his solo work, he has performed with guitar quartets, choirs, chamber orchestras, and small ensembles playing jazz, blues, and traditional music.
Avey, a native of Lincoln, lives there with his wife Deborah, daughter Jennifer, and son Timothy. In his spare time he enjoys working with his garden and collection of bonsai plants.
