Federal financial aid for graduate students
Eligibility basics
- Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Not delinquent on a federal student loan
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (see policy below)
Eligibility as a Concordia graduate student
- Must be admitted to a Concordia University, Nebraska degree-seeking graduate or DLL program.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time or full-time each semester.
- Half-time
Graduate students = 4.5 credit hours
DLL students = 6 credit hours
- Full-time
Graduate students = at least 9 credit hours
DLL students = at least 12 credit hours
I'm eligible, how do I apply?
- Complete the Free Application for Financial Assistance (FAFSA) for appropriate academic year. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov online. The federal school code for Concordia University, Nebraska is 002541.
- Must complete and submit the “Concordia Application for Financial Aid” form (included in the graduate student application packet.
- If students are not eligible for student loans under the FFEL Program, contact the graduate office at 800-535-5494, ext. 7203, for other loan or payment options.
Satisfactory academic progress (SAP) policy for graduate students
Graduate and professional students are expected to complete their program within the maximum time frame of 14 semesters (7 calendar years).
Institutional aid is available along with federal student loans, for half-time and/or full-time enrollment. This is equivalent to 4 or 5 semesters of full-time enrollment and based on a total of 36 or 45 credit hours, depending on program identification.
Satisfactory completion of 9 credit hours per semester and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average is required to remain in good academic standing.
