Athletic Training Room Worker

Job Description: This position includes working in the athletic training room and assisting certified athletic trainers with various responsibilities such as administering first aid, taping, daily/weekly cleaning duties and other duties assigned by the certified athletic trainers. The job also consists of some practice/game coverage based on skills/qualifications.
Hours: (When school starts): The bulk of the hours we need help are Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be some morning, evening and weekend hours available for extra hours. Position: Stage Lighting Technician
Department: Communication and Theatre Arts

Job description: this technician maintains campus stage lighting equipment and supplies. He/she designs and hangs stage lights for campus theatre productions, and runs light control board for campus productions as needed.
Special skills/qualifications: a basic knowledge of stage lighting design and stage lighting instruments needed to carry out a specific stage lighting function. Student will work with play directors to design lighting for theatre performances. A basic knowledge of electrical circuiting is needed. The technician should be able to replace stage lamps and do simple repairs. She/he will also supervise student volunteers and needs to know or learn OSHA guidelines for safe theatre practice. We are willing to train, but previous experience in theatrical lighting is desired.

Summer Jobs and Housing Available on Campus

Maintenance Department: Student Maintenance Assistants needed (male or female) to paint interior of dorms and/or perform general maintenance jobs such as changing light bulbs, light carpentry duties, etc. as needed. Three painters and one carpentry assistant needed for summer work.
Package Deliveries:: Student needed (male or female) to deliver campus packages (UPS, DHL, FedEx) approximately two hours daily and maintain dock area (sweep, remove trash, etc.).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and more. Applicant must be reliable and at least 20 years old to drive the delivery vehicle (gator). This job can be combined with another on-campus job in order to work the required number of hours weekly.
To Apply: Interested students may apply for the positions listed above by completing a Pre-Employment Data Form in person at the Buildings and Grounds Office located in the Buildings and Grounds Building on East Lincoln Street on campus. If approved, student will be contacted for an interview by the department supervisor. Successful applicants will NOT have an abundance of parking tickets accumulated on campus (no more than 5 for the current school year), and will have a vehicle parking permit if they have a vehicle on campus. All employment paperwork must be completed in the Human Resources Office at Weller before you may begin work.
Summer detasselers need not apply.
On-Campus Summer Housing Offer: Students working full-time (40 hours a week) on campus are eligible for reduced on-campus housing in Timothy Hall with access to a kitchen. Students working full-time on campus will pay $12.50 per week to live in the residence hall (which will be deducted from your bimonthly paycheck at $25 per paycheck). Students will move into this housing over graduation weekend as it becomes available, live there the duration of the summer and move into their school-year housing as soon as fall athletes return for pre-season camps (tentatively August 18, 2008). Students who want to take advantage of this offer should have their work supervisor send the Student Life Office (SLO) written notification verifying that they will be working here full-time for the summer and requesting that they have summer housing on campus. Students should contact SLO to make final arrangements for housing and roommates and will need to sign a Summer Worker Housing Contract and a payroll deduction agreement.
It is emphasized that if you are employed on campus during summer operations that this is your primary position during the summer. If you decide to resign from the summer position you will be required to move out of University housing, as the housing is only provided to those students who are employed full-time by the University during the summer months.
