Seward, Neb. -- For the second straight game the Concordia University, Nebraska women’s basketball team shot better than 50 percent as the Bulldogs downed the Haskell Indian Nations Indians, 84-55, in the second game of the Seventh Annual Cattle Classic hosted by Concordia University, Nebraska and the Cattle National Bank and Trust Co.

Four different players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs (5-2, 1-1 GPAC) and the bench poured in 46 points for the second straight night as they held Haskell (3-3) to just 36.4 percent shooting.

Concordia trailed only once in the game, 1-0, as the Bulldogs steadily built a advantage throughout the first half, leading by as many as 16. Sophomore Melissa Tinkham came off the bench to spark the Bulldogs, hitting 3 of 4 three point field goals en route to 11 first half points.

Tinkham finished the night with 20 points to lead all scorers, shooting 64 percent from the field, including 75 percent from beyond the arc (4 of 6). She was one of four players in double figures for Concordia. Whitney Stichka added 14 point while Jenni Lovegrove and TaLisa Krejci both had 11.

Libby Hirssig grabbed six board and added nine points. Danae Koopman also finished with nine points for the game.

Haskell was led by Melinda Adams and Kari Two Lance who had 10 points each.

The Bulldogs take on York College tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. York lost to Midland Lutheran 76-67 in the first game of the Cattle Classic.
