Courtney Meyer, head coach

Courtney Meyer was named Great Plains Athletic Coach of the Year in 2001 after the Bulldogs went 10-2 (7-1 GPAC) to finish as GPAC co-champions and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA playoffs.
Meyer has been head coach of Bulldog football for the past 16 years. He also was Nebraska-Iowa Athletic Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 1999 after Concordia turned in its first winning record since 1987.
The 1965 Concordia graduate also served as the president of the NAIA Football Coaches Association in 2000.
Meyer’s Bulldog coaching record is 63-92-1.
After graduation, Meyer taught at Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, N.Y.,
Long Island Lutheran High School in Long Island, N.Y., and Mayer Lutheran High School in Mayer, Minn.
He returned to Concordia in 1977 and served as defensive coordinator until 1984, when he took the head coaching job at Concordia University, Mequon, Wis., for six years. Meyer holds a master’s degree in physical education from Southeast Missouri State University. He and his wife, Connie, have three children.

Scott Hoffman, offensive coordinator

Scott Hoffman is in his second year as the offensive coordinator for the Bulldogs.
A native of Scottsbluff, Neb., Hoffman has degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Hoffman’s resume includes 23 years of coaching experience at various levels. The last nine years he has served as a head coach at the collegiate level. He spent five years as the helm of the Wayne State College program where he also served as quarterbacks and running backs coach. Prior to Wayne State, Hoffman was head coach at Dakota State University where he was named the SDIC Coach of the Year in 1998. While at DSU he once again coached the quarterbacks and the offensive line.
He also spent 12 years at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. During that time he served as the wide receivers coach and as offensive coordinator. In addition to his coaching duties at UNK he also served as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the 16 intercollegiate sports that were offered.

Vance Winter, defensive coordinator

Coach Vance Winter enters his third year with the Bulldogs and his first year serving as the defensive coordinator. In previous seasons he primarily worked with the linebackers.
Winter also plays a key role in the Bulldogs recruiting process. Previously he served as defensive coordinator at Peru State College and coached linebackers at Wayne State for two years.
Winter played for Dakota State, earning all-conference honors at linebacker.
He holds a master’s degree in sport management from Wayne State.

Steve Sirek, wide receivers

Steve Sirek is in his third season since returning to the Bulldog staff in 2005. After previously working with defensse Sirek makes the transition to the offensive side of the ball, working with the wide receivers.
Sirek is no stranger to Bulldog football, having played and coached at Concordia. He is one of two people involved in all three of the Bulldogs’ conference championships, as he played for one and helped coach during the others.
From 1978-1981 he served as the Bulldogs offensive coordinator. He switched sides of the ball in 1982 and worked with the defense until 1987. During that time Concordia had a .707 winning percentage. Twelve years later, Sirek again joined the staff, coaching under Preuss, serving as the defensive backs and special teams coach from 1999-2002.
Sirek graduated from Concordia in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in education. He has master's degrees from both Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He and his wife, Kathryn, have three children.
Carl Robinson, linebackers

Carl Robinson played for the Bulldogs in the early 80’s. He has since spent eight years coaching high school football in Southern California, his home state.
He most recently served as running backs coach at Santiago High School. He and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Seward with their two children.
Patrick Daberkow, secondary
Patrick Daberkow is in his first season as an assistant with the Bulldogs. Just one year removed from his playing days at Concordia, Daberkow will assist in coaching the defensive backs.
A Madison, Neb., native, Daberkow was the sixth leading tackler for the Bulldogs from his strong safety spot during his senior campaign.
Daberkow is working towards a degree in secondary education and resides in Seward.
