The college selection process is an exciting time, however finding the best way to finance a college education is a matter of great concern to all families. At Concordia, providing financial aid assistance is a top priority. We are committed to doing all we can to make a Concordia education affordable. It may help to know that:
- 99% of Concordia's full-time undergraduate students receive some type of financial aid
- Concordia distributes more than $20 million in financial aid assistance annually
Financial aid timeline
Concordia's financial aid programs
Concordia administers a broad array of financial aid from institutional,
federal, state and private programs. Both need- and non-need-based financial aid options are available to families to help manage their financial obligations.
Non-need-based aid
Financial aid options are available to students without the requirement to
demonstrate financial need. Students that are accepted to Concordia will be
automatically eligible for all non-need-based aid. Non-need-based aid includes
academic merit scholarships and talent scholarships in the areas of
music,
theatre,
forensics,
art and
athletics.

you may be eligible for. Please note that merit scholarships are only awarded
upon acceptance to Concordia which requires an official high school transcript

Need-based aid
Financial aid options are available to students who demonstrate financial need.
Financial need is the difference between the estimated cost of attendance for a
school and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is based upon the
information the family provides on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA). Factors such as income, assets, family size and the number of family
members attending college full-time are considered in determining a family's EFC.
The FAFSA serves as the official application for institutional and federal
need-based financial aid. Based upon a thorough review of the FAFSA, Concordia
will calculate the student's financial need and then determine the student's
need-based financial aid.
Concordia recommends completing the FAFSA as soon as possible
after Jan. 1. Concordia University, Nebraska's Federal School Code is
002541.
Prior to Jan. 1, the Financial Aid Estimator form may be completed to receive an estimate of your eligibility for financial aid from institutional, federal and state sources. The estimator will give you a clearer picture of what your final financial aid package might look like from Concordia.

Yellow Ribbon Program at Concordia
The Yellow Ribbon Program is designed for veterans as well as active duty personnel and their family members who wish to attend a degree-granting, private college or university.
Under this new program, the Department of Veterans Affairs will match dollar for dollar the contributions a participating institution like Concordia makes to help cover an eligible student's tuition, mandatory fees and in some cases other costs that are above the cost of in-state tutition and fees at the most expensive public institution in the state where the eligible student lives.
Concordia's participation level in the program is among the very highest possible.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, service members must have been on active duty on or after Sept. 10, 2001. The actual amount that the VA and Concordia contributes to an eligible individual varies, based on the beneficiary's enrollment status, length of service and other factors.
