Ed Ferguson, 2007 graduateConcordia held its 100th commencement May 5. More than 200 graduates were awarded their degrees.

The class of 1957, on campus celebrating their 50th reunion, was also recognized during the ceremonies.

The speaker for both ceremonies was the Rev. Ray Mirly, president of the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

Mirly was also among several distinguished guests receiving honorary degrees and awards. Mirly received the Doctor of Laws Degree, an award granted for prolonged superior service in a chosen field of endeavor.

Others receiving honorary degrees and awards were Sheila Kubwalo Okoye, Selma, Ala., Doctor of Letters Degree; Peter Richenburg, Barnstable, Mass., Master Educator Award; Clark Kolterman, Seward Neb., Distinguished Service Award; and Edwin Schoening, Omaha, Neb., Crest of Christ Award.
