Concordia hosted the 2008 Institute on Liturgy, Preaching, and Church Music on campus July 22-25. Presented by the Commission on Worship of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, the conference was designed for pastors, musicians and others who regularly plan and lead worship.
"It was a joy to welcome these leaders from all over the country," said Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich, president of Concordia. "The conference provided an opportunity for participants to be edified in worship together, to enjoy the fellowship of others interested in liturgy, preaching and church music and to grow in their understanding."
More than 650 participants attended plenary sessions, seminars, workshops, a hymn festival, a multi-media presentation by Concordia's Center for Liturgical Art, times of daily worship and musical ensemble performances of all types.
