Concordia University, Nebraska has announced the appointment of Assistant Professor Andrew Schultz as conductor of the University Wind Ensemble and director of bands. His years of teaching and performing experience, combined with his dedication to the mission of Concordia and its students, will mean excellent leadership and instruction for our musicians. 

Schultz earned his B.S. from Concordia and his master of music in wind conducting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has taught at the high school and collegiate levels for 17 years. In addition to teaching, Schultz is an accomplished trumpet performer, guest conductor and clinician. He has deep interests in jazz and music technology.

Schultz will assume conducting of the University Wind Ensemble in the fall of 2008. He will continue with his leadership of the Concordia Jazz Ensemble and brass ensembles. Future tours for the University Wind Ensemble include the East and West Coasts, Colorado, Texas and international destinations.
