Bulldogs 1-2 in GPAC tourney; 20 wins in 2004 sets school record Twenty wins in the 2004 season set a school record for the Concordia baseball team. The Bulldogs were 1-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament that ended the season, losing to Dana, 4-2, and Sioux Falls, 11-0, and winning over Morningside, 6-4. Coach Jeremy Giedel already is looking ahead after the 20-27 season, 13-12 for sixth place in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. “We return the majority of our lineup,” he said, “and look forward to building on this year’s successes.” Advancing to the NAIA tournament were Dakota Wesleyan, which won the tournament, and Dana, the regular-season champion. A pre-season poll had picked the Bulldogs to finish 10th in the GPAC. "I’m pleased with the final two efforts,” Geidel said. “We came back after a disappointing loss against USF and went into extra innings with Morningside to pick up a win. We had a solid pitching performance from (Mike) Rohr and our bullpen (Tommy Zavesky and Bobby Brunswick). Even though we lost to Dana, we had our chances but just couldn’t get anything going.” Justin Hanneman had two of Concordia’s six hits against Dana, with the Bulldogs in front 2-1 after three innings. Mark Listenberg’s four hits for Dana included two doubles. Seth Pawling gave up only one run in five innings of relief.
