MSOC: Bulldogs blast royals

Article Body

The Concordia University men's soccer team was able to give head coach Jason Weides his first career victory in a 15-0 dismantling of the Grace University (Neb.) Royals Wednesday night at Bulldog Stadium in Seward, Neb.

It took the Bulldog scoring train some time to get rolling, but once it started, it wouldn't stop until 15 goals had been put into the back of the net. Freshman forward Kolt O'Kelly began the scoring 11 minutes into the game. O'Kelly scored two more times in the first half along with two goals by AJ Jorgensen and a goal each by Aaron Skipworth and George Lara Jr. to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 halftime lead.

The scoring onslaught continued in the second half as the Bulldogs were able to extend the lead with goals by Matt Brink, Tyler Groskurth, Theron Jenkins Jr. (2), Yung Gun Sung, Nick Esser, Kraig Hein, and Matt Elmshauser.

The Bulldogs will try to ride the momentum gained in the victory as they travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for a 3 p.m. match up with Mount Mercy on Saturday, September 6.
