Sioux City, Iowa - The ninth annual Great Plains Athletic Conference Preseason Football Media Day will be held on Monday, August 4, in Lincoln  at the Downtown Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.

The media is welcome to a free lunch beginning at noon at the Cornhusker Marriot.  Starting at 1 pm the GPAC football coaches will address the media with their 2008 outlook, followed by a question and answer period.  The event will conclude with the release of the 2008 GPAC football preseason poll.

Sioux Falls is the defending GPAC football champion after going 10-0 in the league last fall.  The Cougars claimed NAIA National Runner-Up honors (13-1 record) after advancing to their second straight title game before dropping a 17-9 decision to Carroll College.  The 2007 championship game marked the last one in Savannah, Tenn., at Jim Carroll Stadium after a 12-year run of hosting the title game.  Sioux Falls and Morningside both qualified for the NAIA Football Championship Series last year, the Mustangs advanced to the quarterfinal round.

The 2008 and 2009 NAIA National Football Championship games will be played in Rome, Georgia, at Barron Stadium, home of Shorter College.
