The Concordia University softball team was named the third seed in the 2008 Region III Softball Championships. The tournament is scheduled for Wednesday-Friday, May 7-9, in Sioux City, Iowa. The 8-team double elimination tournament will be played at the SYA Softball Complex. Saturday, May 10, is the rain date.
The Bulldogs (31-9) will take on six seed, Midland Lutheran College (27-15) in the first round at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The rest of the teams in the tournament and their seed are as follows: (1) Dickinson State (N.D.), (2) Morningside College (Iowa), (4) Minot State (N.D.), (5) Doane College (Neb.), (7) Northwestern College (Iowa), (8) Dana College (Neb.).
Concordia earned an at-large birth into the tournament after the Bulldogs won the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) regular season championship with a record of 21-3.
