The Concordia University women's tennis team showed that it belongs in the elite of the GPAC women's tennis teams as they took normal conference power Nebraska Wesleyan University to the breaking point before dropping the match 5-4 Tuesday afternoon in Seward, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan (11-7, 5-0 GPAC) held a 2-1 advantage after doubles play, picking up victories in the number two and three doubles. In number two doubles the team of Caudill and Yeagley defeated the Concordia duo of Erinn Beckman and Heather Jackson 8-6 and in the number three doubles, the Nebraska Wesleyan duo of Heaslee and Howe defeated the Bulldogs Leah Koopman and Jess Svajhart 8-2.

The Bulldogs (10-2, 6-2 GPAC) lone victory in doubles came when Hannah Krueger and Taylor Cook defeated the Prairie Wolves Albin and Brown in number one doubles, 8-6.

The two teams then split the singles play 3-3, giving the Prairie Wolves the Victory 5-4. A victory of note was in number four singles. Taylor Cook defeated Nebraska Wesleyan's Alex Yeagley, 6-4 and 6-3 to move her season record to 12-1 overall and 9-0 in GPAC play for the freshman from Belleville, Ill.

The next action for the women's tennis team comes on Friday, April 25, as the Bulldogs make up a match with Dordt College beginning at 4 p.m. in Seward, Neb.
