"Rooted, Established, Abounding"

"Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
Colossians 2:7

Greetings from Concordia University. Welcome back!

I hope that you are enjoying your summer activities, getting refreshed, and prepared to return to Concordia. Please review the information provided below and the collection of links as you get ready for your return.

If you have any questions or concerns about this coming year, please feel free to contact my office. I pray that God is richly blessing you throughout the summer and look forward to seeing you in the fall.

Sincerely in Christ,

Michelle J. Chaffee, JD

General arrival date

Residence halls will be ready for the arrival of returning students beginning Sunday, Aug. 24. The student life office (SLO) will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with remaining keys available at the Campus Center game room once the SLO office closes.

Opening service for the fall semester is Sunday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. and classes begin on Monday, Aug. 25.

Early arrival dates

If there is an exceptional reason that you need to arrive early you must obtain permission from the student life office. There is a $50/night minimum occupancy fee for approved early occupancy of the residence hall rooms outside of school-sponsored events.

If you will participate as a member of the volleyball, football or soccer teams you can move into your room on Friday, Aug. 15. Contact your coach if you have questions about arrival arrangements and the camp schedule. The dates when the halls open and close for each semester, as well as vacation periods, are published in the student handbook.

Those living off campus

If you are twenty-one years of age or older and living off campus this year you must provide the student life office with your off-campus local address the first week of classes.

Bringing a vehicle to campus?

All students who drive cars on campus will need red parking permits, if your red permit is still readable you can use the same red permit you obtained last year. Please note that this year all parking violations will result in tickets that will be 1st-warning; 2nd-$40; 3rd-$60; 4th-towed. Towing will be at the driver’s expense and will require payment for towing and all previous tickets prior to the release of the car. Please see the additional vehicle registration information provided by the Department of Building and Grounds.

I.D. cards

All returning students need to stop in the human resources office (Weller first floor) to pick up and sign for their new I.D. card. You will need to turn in your old I.D. card at that time. If you no longer have your old I.D. card, you will need to show a picture I.D. when picking up the new card. If you did not come in for a picture before you left last April, you can get the new picture and I.D. at that time.

Student health insurance

This year's student health insurance information will be in campus mail boxes. If you are off living off-campus this school year, please come to the student services office for a copy.
