The Concordia University, Nebraska women's tennis team opened up Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) play Wednesday night with a 9-0 victory over rival Doane College.
The Bulldogs had the match secured after sweeping through the singles matches with six straight victories. The only close match was in the number two singles in which Erinn Beckman defeated Doane's Jenna Monter 6-3, 6-4. The other matches the Bulldogs won handily.
Concordia then finished off the Tigers with three straight victories in doubles play. The Bulldogs didn't lose more than two games in any of the three matches, cruising to the 9-0 victory.
The Bulldogs rode the momentum into the weekend in which the they defeated two NCAA Div. III schools in dominating fashion. The Bulldogs took 9-0 victories over both Webster and Mayville to move their record to 4-1 overall.
The next action for the Bulldogs comes Friday, April 4 as Concordia welcomes Bethel College to Seward, Neb., with the match beginning at 4 p.m.
